The Military History Society of New South Wales Incorporated presents
Mr. Tim Bowden
Author, Radio/Television Broadcaster and Producer
on
The Australian Troops captured by the Japanese in Singapore in February 1942 had never given any thought to being prisoners of war. They had intended to win, and the sudden collapse of the Allied forces left them bewildered and demoralized.
Tim Bowden will describe the extraordinary efforts of one young Australian to smuggle a camera into his kit and record, in graphic detail, the horrors and privations experienced by him and his colleagues in three and a half years of the most atrocious captivity imaginable.
